My Language Brain gives pupils purposeful French and Spanish practice, and gives teachers clear sight of how each pupil is getting on. Here is how it works, how we look after your pupils' information, and the documents your data protection lead will want to see.
How classroom access works
Teachers sign in with an individually approved school Google account. Pupils sign in with a class code, their name and a personal PIN: no pupil email addresses are needed. A pupil can reach only their own class, and a teacher only the classes they teach, with these rules enforced on our servers.
Your pupils' information
- Your school stays in control: you are the controller, we are your processor, under a written Data Processing Agreement.
- Pupil records are stored in the UK, in Google Cloud's London region.
- We collect only what the lessons need: a display name you choose, class membership, answers and progress. No emails, dates of birth, addresses or photos.
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, no selling of data, and pupils' work is never used to train AI.
- AI marking, used in some writing and speaking activities, sees only the answer being checked, never the pupil's name.
- When you finish, we return or delete your school's data within 30 days, and confirm when it is done.
The documents
- School Terms of Service: trials, subscriptions, support and the commitments on both sides.
- Data Processing Agreement: our obligations as your processor, security measures and sub-processors.
- Privacy Notice: written for pupils, families and staff, and ready to share.
Starting a trial
A trial is free and never turns into a paid subscription automatically. We agree a short Order Form with you (your school, contacts, classes and dates), help your data protection lead with any questions or impact assessment, and set up your teachers. Email noah.price@mylanguagebrain.com to begin.
